Last night Kevin rented "Pirates of the Carribbean 2." I was kind of disappointed because I wasn't that interested in seeing the movie and I'd hoped to get to do something together since tonight he's not going to be home. I was also bummed because had I known that's what was going down, I would have gone to the "ladies salad supper" at church last night (sorry Becky!), which I'd decided against originally because I was tired and just wanted to relax with Kevin. Oh well. For anyone who went, who gave the talk? I always have a good time at these (and I love salad).
SO, instead I got caught up on laundry (we have tons of that around here!) and finished a really good book, "Letters to Malcolm, Chiefly on Prayer" by CS Lewis. (Kevin enjoyed the movie and cuddled with Kaitlyn the whole time, which was so cute.) Not sure what I'll read next. I finally gave up on "Desiring God" by John Piper because I just couldn't get into it. I figure life's too short to read books you're not wanting to read! (Oh and in Kevin's defense, lest you think he only rents movies he wants to see, he also rented us "Akeelah and the Bee" which I've been wanting to see since it came out.)

This morning my mom and dad came over to (fight over who got to) hold the baby. :) The kids had a blast wearing Grandpa's big shoes and baseball cap and having Grandma read to them. My parents spent some time in downtown SLO on their way down and brought the kids (and us) some yummy bread from The House of Bread.
Tonight Kevin is taking Anna on a date to go see the Christian band "Downhere", who's performing at our church. He and I saw them back when we were engaged and they're pretty good. Anyway our little girl is sooooooooooooo excited to be going on a special date to a concert with her daddy (and he is excited too!) What will I do at home with two rowdy boys and an infant? Not too sure yet.
No big plans for the rest of the week. I'm wanting to call the Santa Maria library soon to find out if they offer a weekly story-time for little kids. I'd like to be able to at least occasionally do this with the kids, or at least with Anna, who I know would enjoy it. The boys, not too sure if they'd have a long enough attention span. We'll see.
Anyway, that is my random blog for the day! (I hope your cold gets better soon David! :) )

The ladies salad supper?! Oh no, did I miss it AGAIN???
:)
Btw, you have to go "vote" on my blog...I need your input!
HAHA! Jeannett I soooooo was going to put something in there about how I bet you didn't go either, but didn't want to put you on the spot. Heehee. And I'm headed to your blog to vote!
First of all, your kids are so adorable!
Second, I saw Kevin and Anna on their date (but I commented on that on a comment you made on my blog... I think.)
Third, when are you going to put a link to my blog on your blog? It's almost like you don't care... ;)
Story time at our library is the only BIG outing we usually do every week, besides our normal Monday grocery shopping. My kids absolutely love it! Even Rachel (21 months) does pretty well even though she doesn't sit with the kids on the floor (she sits with me). They do a craft project that I mainly have to do for the kids, but they love it anyway. You could always give it a try and never go back again if it ends in disaster! It takes me a long time to want to leave the house after I have a baby. There are too many variables to deal with when you are away from home! (like explosive poop, enough said!)
The salad supper was nice. The focus was on New Beginnings and Easter. A couple of ladies shared their Easter Traditions and then one talked about her new beginnings and a little about the women's conference that is coming up.
You would think after being at the church 3 years and coming to the salad suppers for 2 I would start to know more of the ladies names... sorry for that. It was good though. Smaller than usual, but that is probably because Cal Poly is on Spring Break so all the college girls are out of town...
If you are looking for a good book, The Color of Water by James McBride is wonderful. He calls it "A Black Man's Tribute to His White Mother." I am almost done and reading slowly to draw it out. It is about a Jewish girl in Suffolk VA who gets saved and marries a black man in Harlem, starts a church, then marries again after her first husband passes and has 11 children. It is wonderful.
thanks for the sout out. david is feeling sniffly but happy. i think i'll keep him home today. love the pics of the kiddos. by the time i got ready to walk out the door for the ladies salad supper it was 7:30, so i put my purse down and came back in--argh!
All of your kids are gorgeous, but I must tell you that Biniam has the sweetest smile EVER!
Seeing your pics make me want more babies RIGHT NOW! :-)
I've followed your blog for a while now and just finished blogging about my daughters date with her Daddy, sooo beautiful. Congratulations on your new gift from God. We arrived back from the Philippines in Jan with our 16month old son, Jeremiah, so I love reading about your days together as a family. God Bless
Lisa (okay old post so you might not even read this), I have sooooo had that happen w/ the salad supper before! Problem is Kevin doesn't get home till 6 so I'm always late. :(
brandi-lee, congrats on your new son! Our boys were 16 mos. old when we got them as well! (Growing up we had family friends who had a son from the Philippines, and my mom's stepmom is from the Philippines as well!)
