Since very early on in the adoption process I somehow (not remembering how!) started getting to know Shelley. It's been so neat seeing their family grow, reading their blog and emailing back and forth (except I don't have as much time for either these days!) I love knowing there's another young, big family out there and that we're not alone. :) Anyway I read this post today and it captures so much of what I think and feel.
Somedays I just wish I could be normal

it's so funny because normal is really so relative. i love your family and you guys are way normal in my book. not that my book counts more than anyone else's but...
i too appreciate your family! and to Joy above (and i am sure brianna would agree) is just not about being normal, it is something just wanting to be able to blend in. sometimes i dont want to stick out and it is hard to go ANYWHERE with 5 kids 5 and under and not get comments. thanks to Joy above for loving the heldts the way they are!!!!!! i am sure they appreciate it!
Seriously, normal is boring...and who wants to be boring anyway?!
I think you're great, even if you do live in Santa Maria.
What is normal? I get comments all the time about how I must have my hands full with 2 young kids. I usually try to be witty and say something about how I'm at the easy part, it's the high school years that will be tough with such beautiful daughters. God is growing all of our families perfectly and I wouldn't want it any other way.
