And Baby Heldt will make four (under four)!

Yes, that's right, I am hereby announcing to the blogging world (lest anyone think I'm gaining weight for no reason) that we are having a baby in February!

My last few months have been spent secretly eating, napping and trying not to throw up amidst chasing after three toddlers. :) My pregnancy with Anna was so much more, how shall I say it, restful!

We're so excited about this latest gift God is blessing us with, and so grateful that so far it has been a healthy, "uneventful" pregnancy. The baby will be exactly three years younger than Anna, and about two years younger than Yosef and Biniam. Personally I'm hoping for a girl to even things up around here, but we'll see. :) We had an ultrasound this past Thursday and there was baby, thrashing around with a strong heartbeat. It was neat for all of us (Kevin, the kids and me) to be there for the ultrasound. Today I got to hear the baby's heart beating, though barely, because it was actually in sync with my own pulse! (Though of course mine wasn't beating 160 times per second!)

We just recently told our family and friends--we'd decided to wait as long as we could before announcing it for several reasons. In case something went wrong, so people could have more time just enjoying and getting to know our boys, and also because we worried we'd take some flak from people who think we make unacceptable life choices (we haven't gotten any though, so apparently people are used to us bringing kids into our family nearly every February!) At any rate, most of my clothes aren't fitting anymore, so vanity dictated that we make our announcement. :)

Anyway, we are totally thrilled and excited, and pretty interested to see how having four kids is going to play out around here. (I'm already looking forward to going into the hospital--other people preparing my food and serving it to me in bed, eating custard and jello, only having one child to look after...sounds like a vacation! And yes I'm serious--Marian Medical Center serves up a mean dish of custard!)

CONGRATS!!! What a blessing! We found out I was pregnant just three weeks after Rachel and Nicholas arrived. I look back on my time in the hospital as the best vacation I ever had.

Hi Brianna,

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! And remember, it's your choice, nobody elses! If you guys are happy that's all that matters! You can't live your life for everybody else!! One of these days when we make it back to Sanata Maria to visit the relatives we will have to get together!

In the meantime, enjoy your children...they grow up so fast!

CONGRATULATIONS! How exciting for your family. Were you guys hoping to get pregnant, or was this a surprise?

I will be praying for you to have energy and strength to keep up with everyone. At least it sounds like you are already almost done with your first trimester!

Congrats!!! And with regard to the "and also because we worried we'd take some flak from people who think we make unacceptable life choices" do what you know is right and ignore anyone who disagrees. Big life lesson for us while on this journey.

We brought home Song from China 5 months after Jeremiah was born, and just ignored the "helpful insights" from others.

More blessings on the way!

I remember the Brianna who wanted to quickly have her two kids after getting married so she could take family trips to Disneyland! Look who she has become in just four short years. You should make a family trip to Disneyland before February though. Kids get in free under three! I personally love wearing stretchy clothes and not worrying if my stomach is sticking out. You wear those maternity clothes with pride! Congrats again!

Rachel, I know, I cannot believe Disneyland charges $49 for a 3 year old's ticket! Sheesh! We've actually talked about taking the kids right before Anna's third birthday. They are seriously running a racket there! (We went to the Santa Barbara Zoo yesterday and THEY charge for 2 year olds! Rather disheartening since Anna was more interested in eating cheese puffs than looking at the animals half the time!)

Shana, we've been hoping for a baby for a while now. It was somewhat of a surprise (I am not an avid calendar watcher), but a much hoped-for and prayed-for one!

YYYAAAHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yippie congrats! I am so excited for you guys. And once again (I think I wish this every other day?) that you freakin' lived here so we could have 9 children under 4 between the two of us. :) Congrats, how awesome, how big our God is, how cool our God us, how lucky we are to get to be a part of his story.

AhA! I was wondering how long you would go until you blogged about it...hence my "and...." comment in the last post...like, the boys came, oh and by the way....

I'm so very excited for you guys! Another excuse for me to buy more baby clothes!!! Congrats! Maybe the Gibsons can tag along at Disneyland...we can each take a kid...like the buddy system! I call dibs on Anna! Just kidding. You know I adore them all. Can't wait to meet baby #4--February will be here before you know it!

Aubrey really likes the zoo, but I don't think I would like paying for her either. My mom bought me a pass for my birthday so I get in free and can bring a guest for free which works out great since Aubrey is always free.

Congratulations! Learning to deal with those "who do not agree with your life choices" can be an ongoing thing. After a few "more" years of choices they do not understand "they" start to give up on you! TRUST ME it will happen some day. Enjoy being a mommie again!

Blessings
