So I haven't blogged in, um, a really long time. (AND I gave Jeannett grief on her blog for not blogging--I am truly a blog hypocrite.) If this was a job I'd be fired!
We had a nice Christmas and Kevin's still off of work. We've just been hanging out and getting our house in order before the baby comes (both cleaning and organizing), having fun, and eating way too much chocolate (okay that's mostly just been me. I have no business having sweets in the house when I'm pregnant.) He goes back to work Monday and I don't know how the kids will survive (and not just because they'll be stuck alone with me.) They LOVE having Daddy home and the first thing Anna wants to do when she gets up in the morning is "cuddle with Daddy."
One of the highlights of our break was seeing our friends Darin and Lara and little Caedra who were visiting from Mississippi. We have missed them a lot! Maybe Caedra misses me too because she has called my cell phone twice now in the last few days (keep in mind she is one year old!)
Okay nothing really to blog about. Monday I will continue my little blog series and post about adopting HIV-positive children.

Hi Brianna!
It's great to see an update!
I think of you and your sweet family often.
Love,
Renee
I've loved reading your series on HIV adoption...I'm looking forward to reading more!
It's so nice that Kevin's work shuts down over the Holiday. Mike only had the Eve's and the actual days off! Will he be able to take time off of work when the baby comes too?
Actually Kevin only had Christmas Day thru New Year's Day off, but had a bunch of paid-time-off days left over that he had to use, so he used those. I think he's going to try to work from home for a few days when the baby's born--if possible we like when he gets to use his PTO for fun stuff. When Anna was born he didn't take any extra time off, just the days I was in the hospital.
We are hoping that Mike can use a week of PTO when the baby is born and take it from there. I'm not a big fan of having an audience while I am adjusting to life change so we will not be having family fly out at the beginning either. I basically couldn't nurse Aubrey unless I was topless for the first several weeks. Hopefully it will be easier this time around.
Oh Rachel I too am all about not having an audience! Maybe it's 'cause I'm a private person in general but yeah, I want to know I can adjust to the whole thing on my own before any house guests arrive (especially that nursing stuff.) I'm glad Mike has the option of using some PTO for this. I found with Anna I really felt okay doing things on my own. This time though I don't think I will fare so well. Fortunately my mom can either stay with us OR she could even take the kids to their place for awhile. Who will watch Aubrey for you guys???
Isn't that the question of the hour. We are hoping it works out that Tanya can take her. However, my water broke at 10pm last time so who knows what will happen this time. Mike has a co-worker with a son Aubrey's age and they are a back-up. Then I have a few neighbors that might work out depending on when this whole thing goes down! I am just going to prepare a short notebook that describes 24 hours with Aubrey and have a bag packed for her too. It's just craziness! Who knows maybe she will be in the delivery room cheering me on...
