Christmas fun

I love making things festive for my kids. They're enjoying the Christmas season so far--we had so much fun decorating our (fake) Christmas tree a few weeks ago, complete with hot chocolate, popcorn, and the classic movie "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer."

I've been loving baking, too--fudge, chocolate mousse pie, triple-chocolate peppermint trifle. Mmmmmm.

Anna, Yosef and Biniam sang up front with their Sunday School class this past Sunday. Totally cute, and Yosef actually sang part of the song during the third service. (I'll post pics later I think.)

We haven't done our Christmas cards yet. Will we do them at all this year? Only time will tell!

We watched Rudolph this year too. Santa was a meany and Rudolph's dad was not nice either. What kind of message are we sending our kids? Blend in and be like everyone else or I'll disown you. Sad, sad, sad!

Yea, no Christmas cards from us this year, I have come to the point if I get them done every OTHER year, I will be okay :-P

And the classic xmas movies!! I bought the walmart 5 pack last year (Rudolf, Frosty, etc) and I was SERIOUSLY disturbed by the antiquated values the 1960's had.

Fortunately the kids just take it at face value and don't analyze the deeper meaning behind Rudolf's rejection by all friends and family just because he was "different".

tamara and rachel, there are some REALLY disturbing old vintage cartoons i've seen...characters weilding big knives, horrible characatures of black people. what were they thinking in the '50's?!

joy, the kids actually didn't spill any. but our carpet is so awful anyway that for now, i'm over it. :)
