wow--what great words and sentiments. i can't imagine my children not being held and loved from moment one. praise God for people like her, like you, like my parents who have opened their hearts to children not born of their own bodies and created wonderful families in the meantime. i guess you'll still get to blog in denver, so i can stay caught up that way, but it's not quite the same.
How do you know her, Brianna? She sounds like a terrific woman, a good friend. Will you live near her when you move? I read that they live in the Rocky Mountain state...
things like this are so hard for me to read right now. i believe all that with all my heart and don't want to wait to bring babies who need families home. i'm very excited to have another birth child, but it is so frustrating to have been pursuing adoption, and to come across so many obstacles in the process, and finally to have to wait to do the thing i know is right.
penny, i'm not sure where i first heard about erin, i think through her old blog. she and i have emailed back and forth before, because i was interested in learning more about HIV-positive adoption, though we've never actually talked or met. i am always so inspired by her life, especially by her two adoptions from AHOPE. you can read a lot about that on her other blog, it's on my sidebar, click on "erin". (she doesn't live in colorado though...bummer!)
i'm sorry it's hard kristen! i feel like all these kids should be adopted, but i know right now is not the time for us. when will it be again? not sure. the truth is that there are HUGE ways to help these children, and the orphan problem, without adopting, so we hope our lives are characterized by that when we're not actually working to bring a child home.
joy i know! :( but hopefully we can chat on the phone from time to time, and you can make me laugh, because you're really, really good at that. i will miss the newmans!!!
