Birthday specialness

This year Anna's birthday fell on a weekday, and we had a party planned for the weekend, but still we wanted to have something special for her on the DAY. So that meant going with Daddy to get some treats early that morning.

You've got to love a spontaneous breakfast party. (When there are seven people in your family, you can have spontaneous parties, because you always have a party quorum.)

There was lively music.

And donuts, the breakfast of champions.

Then, there were gifts from the grandparents.

Happy party attenders later that morning.

Sometimes the simplest things are the best things. The kids had a blast, Anna loved it, and it was a special morning, which was the goal!

Family memories are priceless. I look forward to so many more in the years to come.

And it's my understanding that when a donut is paired with a banana (as shown in the picture), it becomes a breakfast of REPEAT champions!

so sweet! and you're right--a family of 7 is a traveling party. i grew up in a family of 7 so i can totally say that.

I also wanted to comment on the family of 7 thing (since that's what I grew up with too!). I never really remember having parties for our birthdays and most people look at me as if it's the most bizarre thing to say! Poor child! Mom and Dad would usually allow us to invite 1 or 2 friends over. But, being the homebody/shy girl that I was, I always just preferred to have my siblings - they were my best friends! And there were 4 of them! Happy Birthday Anna!

"When there are seven people in your family, you can have spontaneous parties, because you always have a party quorum." Love it!

Looks like a great b-day DAY. I especially love that Kevin took a picture of the music selection (looks like his reflection). I'm sure there's some great, special reason behind it, but I say it's just good blogging technique.

Nice sleuthing, Kristen! I had forgotten that I was the one who took it! But I agree, I can't argue with the reflection. I believe the "special reason" was to photodocument the music selection from our special breakfast. And now as an added bonus, it gave my wife the opportunity to "lively up" her post!

I'm pretty sure my kids wouldn't touch a banana with a donut on their plate. Unless the donut was surrounding the banana... :)

Oh, this is all just too fun! Happy Birthday!

(And when did Kaitlyn grow up? She looks like such a big girl in that picture!)
