Glowing endorsement

I just have to sing the praises of Burt's Bees "Baby Bees" products! When the dermatologist diagnosed Kaitlyn with Atopic Dermatitis, I immediately set out to find some skin care products that were gentle and natural, since I knew I'd need to be using them a lot. So I stocked up on the Diaper Ointment, Baby Shampoo and Wash, and Buttermilk Lotion. Within DAYS, the eczema on Kaitlyn's arm and leg (which had been horrible) was COMPLETELY GONE. It is seriously a miracle. She still has a small rash on her diaper area, but apparently due to the ointment, it doesn't itch much anymore, isn't getting worse, and therefore she's not scratching it and has been infection-free for weeks now!

Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend these amazing products, especially if you have a child with dry/sensitive skin. Kaitlyn's skin is so smooth now and I feel so happy that I can fight her eczema with safe, mostly-natural, over-the-counter products!

oh hooray! so glad that you're able to effectively treat it! Kaitlyn is beautiful in both pics and I'm happy she's not uncomfortable anymore! Praise the Lord for He is good, His steadfast love endures forever!
Charlotte has very very dry skin. Not quite exema, just bumpy dry, so thanks for the endorsment, I think I'll go get some tomorrow! :)

that is sooo good to know! all of my kids have eczema and have never had soft smooth skin. i know lots of places sell burts bees (i love their chapstick!). did you find anywhere with great prices?

Glad to hear she is feeling better and you found something that works!

maybe it would work on Aubrey's rashy underware line on her back...

lindsey that is the one bummer, it IS a bit pricey. target carries it, and cvs (formerly riteaid) does, so other pharmacies probably do too...and the prices at target and cvs seemed to be the same. so i haven't found any super good prices but i'll be keeping my eyes open!

New Frontiers carries a lot of burtsbees stuff here in SLO, and I know the Longs downtown has some, as well as Scolaris....

I'll stop lurking to say that we too love Burt's Baby line! Everything in their products is so natural that you can eat them and no harm will come to you--good thing when you are using them with babes! Anyway, so glad that it helped. Love reading about your little family,
Jenny

that's super good news! i've heard good things about Burt's Bees.

Also, my sister recommends Aquaphor. it works well for her son's eczema, and i use it on zeb's cheeks when he has a cold (poor kiddo has such fair skin that he breaks out from his own snot!). and it does wonders for him. incidentally i used to use Aquaphor on my hands when i would get my terrible rashes from my illness (i'd get a horrible, painful rash across my knuckles that would bleed and be so yucky-- i had to wear gloves to my senior prom because of it).

by the way, kaitlyn's so beautiful! those eyes!!

unfortunately kaitlyn is highly allergic to aquaphhor--I'm guessing b/c of the alcohol--probably the worst she's broken out was from using it! (her skin was burning up to the touch, you could feel it THROUGH her diaper, it was horrible.) SO, that's out for us.

because aquaphor contains alcohol, i would say use with caution!!! some skin won't react well to it, as we discovered the hard way. :(

I haven't been able to find Burt's Bees at a "great" price...I've even looked online, amazon.com, the whole bit and it's all about the same price no matter where you go. I guess that they are just not quite big enough of a company? Or, more likely, they don't exactly have any competition. Luckily, it's more expensive than Johnson's Baby but not THAT expensive, you know?

i agree jeannett, it is in the "reasonable" category and for us, we're at a place where we'll do whatever it takes to clear her skin up to avoid infection. and yeah it does seem to be the same price everywhere.

they DID just merge with the clorox company, i wonder what,if anything, will change.
