Summer movies

This morning marked our kids' first trip to the movie theater! Throughout the summer, there are free kids' movies playing around Denver, and today the kids and I went to see Nim's Island. They--yes, all four of them--were completely transfixed for the entire film. Even Kaitlyn. The general concensus once it was over was that the movie was good, but "too long." :)

A fun bit of trivia: this was MY first trip to the movie theater since...wait for it...The Passion of the Christ. Which came out in February 2004. I lead a simple life. :)

This afternoon the kids and I are heading out to meet some good friends and play in a big fountain. SO fun! I love summertime!

Andy took me to see Transformers last week...probably the first time I had been to the Theater since the first Transformers...and I think before that was to see Monsters Inc. We actually talked about how we find it so strange that people go on dates to movies and consider if family time...you not only don't talk to each other, you can't even see the other person's face!!! I'm not a huge fan of movie theaters...mainly because it's so expensive, but I do see the "value" in seeing certain movies there...the big screen makes some movies all that much cooler. But at $10 a ticket, it better be good!

Wow! Your kids are sure growing. Can't even remember the last time I saw them. Glad you had a good time at the movies. Dan and I used to go a lot, but prices are not that good, although...some theaters I CAN GET THE SENIOR DISCOUNT!!! Not too bad...still a bit much, but at least it's a little cheaper.

We tried to go to the free movies at Edwards today, but the theater was already full. I was a little bummed, but honestly I wasn't all that excited about watching a full length Elmo movie anyway. I can't stand the voice or grammar. There are a couple Veggie Tales ones coming up, so we'll make sure to be early for those ones so that we get a seat.
