Saturday with the Heldts

So this was the scene at our house this morning. The kids LOVE Saturdays because Saturdays mean that Daddy's home.

The kids love cuddling with Daddy in bed.

Another common scene in our home, Biniam and Yosef about to give Kaitlyn hugs and kisses. (I often reflect on how loved Kaitlyn is! In addition to two parents who love her, she's got a sister and two brothers who can't get enough of her!)

This morning we got up early and got going. We met two dear friends of mine from high school, and one of their husbands, for breakfast (they were in town for a motorcycle show.) One of my friends had her two precious daughters with her, so all in all there were 5 adults and 6 kids! All the kids did great!

After breakfast, they headed off to the fairgrounds for the show and we headed to Sears to get the kids' pictures taken. I think we got some cute ones.

Tonight we're just hanging out at home, and we have church tomor
row. Hope you had a great Saturday!

You can't beat that time reading with mom or dad. I still remember my parents reading stories to me in bed. That last picture is beautiful!

He looks pretty happy considering the content of the videotape I gave him Friday night!

Your bed looks like our bed on Sunday mornings, ful of kids. Isn't it the best!?!

Andy hehe, yes he was none too happy about the content of the videotape. I keep telling him hey, those guys make millions of dollars, what do they care if they win or not?? (Obviously I just don't think like a boy I guess!)

Jeannett by the time the weekend rolls around, he's got a bit of a scruff going on...but 4:45 am is just too early to be using a sharp object!

super cute pictures. what a family!

i love your sheets!! very cool.

hey, we had fun with you guys at the wild toddler table tonight at church (feel a bit sorry for whoever had to the clean up the floor under and around our table!). us crazy families have to stick together. i don't know about you, but i was so proud of our families tonight. it is just so special to be used by God in all these kiddos lives. some call it crazy; i call it blessed. and a ton of fun!

okay, why do i always get such funky word verifications? this one's super hard...

Yes I had a blast also! Overall I'd say the kids did great considering the non-age appropriateness of the activity! Truly it is a blessing to have all these children and get to be part of their lives. I think two highlights were: Zeb's truck randomly making it over to my feet (for some reason that struck me as funny) and Anna taking a header off of the chair (and someone nearby gasping REALLY loudly.)

I'm so glad to have like-minded, child-friendly friends like you and Mike in our lives! Always so encouraging to me!!!

I put Aubrey in bed with Mikey too. Unfortunately she doesn't stay long, but it is a fun way to start the day.

All 4 of your children are gorgeous. How wonderful that you have adopted. A close friend of mine plans to adopt 2 siblings soon of pre school age. She said everyone wants 1 baby so she's preparing herself for 2 more challenging children. I really admire her.
I have 4 children too. I came across your blog via Lisa.

Hi kell! That's really neat that your friend is planning to adopt preschool aged kids. It's true, everyone wants the healthy single babies and there are so many older children needing homes! Someday we hope to adopt either special needs or older kids. I'm going to go check out your blog right now! (How do you know sweet Lisa?)
