4 + 4

My little men are growing up. Sigh.

Yosef and Biniam, we love you so much! God is growing you into such strong boys with big hearts and adventuresome spirits. I remember the day you came into our world and changed it forever with your big smiles and sweet, tender hearts. WE LOVE YOU!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

(And let it also be known that I now have THREE four-year-olds. You know, in addition to my 20-month-old. We are blessed! And a little bit tired.)

Oh, Brianna! I can't believe it...they are four already. My little guy is going to be four pretty soon here also. I'm in awe at how the Lord has blessed us with these beautiful kids from half-way around the world, plus all the homemade ones too! He is good! Happy birthday boys!

Oh, what great photos! Brianna, do you plan to have the boys visit Ethiopia (with you and your husband, i mean!) when they are older? Have they expressed any interest in that? I was just wondering what your thoughts were on the subject...:)

Hi Jen!

I do hope to take our boys to Ethiopia one day, when they're a bit older. I also hope that each of my kids can, at some point, spend a few months abroad doing some sort of relief/orphan care work. I'd LOVE it if my boys did this in Ethiopia!

Sometimes they'll say they want to go to Ethiopia, but I think it's mostly because we talk about it often. (Usually it's in the context of, "I want to go to Ethiopia tomorrow!")

I don't know how interested they'll be in their birthcountry as they grow. Our goal is to make information available to them, and have it be a comfortable, open topic for discussion. As much as I'd LOVE for them to fall in love with Ethiopian culture (as we have) and to feel connected to Ethiopia, who knows if they will. Time will tell I guess!

i don't have the slightest idea how i got to your blog. but i did. and i loved reading about your sweet family.

we also don't send our kids to preschool - and i loved reading that quote. i just want as much time with my kids as i can get!

and we're praying about adoption. from africa.

and i'm ALL about simplifying. i can't STAND all the craziness and activities and such.

AND i just made my own laundry detergent and LOVE it!

anyways, i need to go feed my youngest before i head to bed. but thanks for encouraging me by being someone of "like mind!"

blessings! Courtney

I was actually in your neck of the woods last week. We stopped in Denver on our way to Indianapolis for the National FFA Convention! I thought of you when we landed!!

I hope all is well!
