Belated Thanksgiving post

Yes, you read that right. I am JUST NOW sharing our Thanksgiving pictures. And it's January 22nd! I know, you're speechless, and downright impressed that people like me even exist. Well, believe it! I am a procrastinator, always have been, and surely always will be. I guess now you won't be surprised when I confess to you that today's job is taking down the Christmas tree. Oh, the shame! Can we still be blog-friends? Okay, now that we have that out of the way...

We were blessed to spend our first Colorado Thanksgiving down in Castle Rock with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike and Rachel, our nieces Aubrey and Ainsley, and some friends of Mike and Rachel's, Jay and Jenna, and their little girl Laina. Two comments about this picture: first, I need to take off my (tall) shoes before standing in a picture with people who AREN'T wearing ANY shoes. You know, so I don't look like a GIANT. Second, look at how Biniam and sweet little Ainsley are totally smiling at each other! SO CUTE! My kids love their cousins!

There was SO much wonderful food, and a good time was had by all. Here's the day in pictures:

This is the apple pie I baked, my first-ever.

The kids outside our house before we left. I love this picture.

The standard kid-table

Kaitlyn, happy as a clam at the adult table

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, we set out to run some errands and went out to lunch, partially to celebrate me getting my sense of taste back (remember, I'd had a sinus infection). We took pictures, not sure why. But here they are.

The kids on our street. They love snow. Possibly more than anything!
Me and Kaitlyn--SO cute drinking out of a straw!
Kevin with Anna and Yosef
Me and Biniam

So that was our first holiday in Denver. We had a blast and it is so neat to think that my kids are actually building relationships with their cousins and aunt and uncle. When we all still lived in California we never did holidays together really, so it's been pretty neat.

Now if I can just find the camera cord for our NEW camera, I can upload THOSE pictures and maybe get you caught up on our life a little bit! Oh and does anyone else feel like any time they go to Chili's, they're stepping right into an episode of The Office????

We were considering getting a new camera for Christmas, and then our vacuum broke, and now I am craving Chili's too.

The DUNDIES!!!

Rachel, we actually had no intention of getting a new camera, but right after Thanksgiving, any time we took a picture there was this strange spot that appeared on the screen (and the pictures). Kevin tried everything but yeah, it is there to stay, so we found one for a good price at Costco. I think it takes better pictures, so that's good. But I can't find the cord!!!

Andy, YES, the Dundies!!!

No worries...this means we'll be getting Christmas pictures sometime late February or early March?LOL Great pictures...bring them out whenever you can...I'll still enjoy them.

We have a strange spot too! That's why we were talking about getting a new camera. I think it went away on its own though. I am just compulsive enough to go back and check now.

Loved the post, made me feel better about my belated Christmas post! Thanks

Oh Rachel that's strange that it went away!!! I have NO CLUE how we got ours. It was fine on Thanksgiving, none of my kids got ahold of it...it is a mystery.

YES to the office questions. Totally.

And, for shame, Brianna. Seriously, Christmas decorations? You are one of THOSE families, aren't you. ... Oh wait, is there garland still strewn across our fence and Christmas lights all along our house and trees? Totally humiliated, but it's true. It took us FOREVER to decorate (um, just had a baby) and now we just can't seem to carve out time to put the remaining decorations away. But these are the OUTSIDE decorations, so everyone passing by our house can SEE that we have not done this yet. We are SO "that house" in the neighborhood. At least Mike finally unplugged the lights so they don't come on every night (they were on a timer) after I told him of my humiliation. One of these days we'll get to it. Hopefully before next Christmas.

So when does The Office start back anyway???

Ha Kristen, you crack me up!!! I love that Mike turned the lights off, heehee! I am just SO NOT MOTIVATED to get it done, but we have people coming over on Saturday and on Monday and I am just too embarrassed to keep it up. But have I taken it down yet? No, no I have not, and it is 3:43 p.m. Will it happen? Oh, I hope so!

The Office was new last week, and will hopefully be new tomorrow too. So I think you missed a week. You need to post about how you watch more TV than anyone else without a TV, heehee!!!

Tee hee hee on the Office question.

What adorable pictures!

My goal for taking the Christmas tree down was to do it before Marissa's birthday (Jan.5). And I THOUGHT I had, but I just looked at the pictures, and WHAT is that greenery lurking in the background?!? And I still have to move three ornament boxes to our storage thing in the backyard.

Don't worry Brianna, we still haven't taken down our tree yet either. And quite honestly I am not sure when we are going to do it....

Brianna Heldt said...

Oh Paige you make me feel so much better!!! Three cheers for Christmas trees that are up for long periods of time! :)
