Letter to a long-lost love

Dear Joe,

Oh, how I miss you. It's been four long months since we last convened. I know I'm the one who chose to move, and I knew I'd miss you, but I just didn't realize how MUCH I'd miss you.

What I wouldn't give right now for a nice cold glass of Dixie Peach. No one's Naan compares to yours, and I have yet to find hummus that tastes REMOTELY as good as the kind I'd receive from you. How will I make my Thai stir-fry, or where will I ever find yummy raspberry sparkling lemonade? I've tried other places, but they're not the same. They are simply (not-so) cheap substitutes.

I've put off these sad feelings for weeks, telling myself there are other places I can go...but today I was struck with a horrifying thought: the holidays without Candy Cane Joe-Joe's. Some would argue I am better off without you, being that I always eat the whole box in a day or two, singlehandedly.

But the heart wants what the heart wants.

Sweet, sweet, dear Trader Joe, PLEASE consider a move to Colorado. It doesn't even have to be to Denver...I can drive to Pueblo if I have to. But come. Soon.

Forever yours,

Brianna

There is a rumored TJ's coming to Denver although I have seen no evidence on their website. Mike and I have considered the 6 hour drive to New Mexico to stock up though. And darn it, I didn't even consider stalking up on dry goods while I was in Cali (with baggage prices I probably wouldn't have anyway).

So sad. Not to make it worse, but the big SM is getting a Trader Joes, right next to Gold's Gym in the Costco shopping center. I can't wait.....maybe we'll mail you goodies!

Dear Joe,
Although I've never met you in person, I love you. And I want you.

That is such a sad love letter Brianna! I send my brother TJ care packages because he moved to NY far far away from a Trader Joe's. So sad!

We live 3 hours away from our beloved Trader Joes. I get to stock up usually twice a year and embarrass myself completely by buying several cases of half the sugar organic raspberry jelly. They always ask, "What do you DO with all that jelly?" I can't ever get cold stuff though which is a real bummer. I am on my last couple of jars of jelly and already feeling anxious. The longing never goes away, you just learn to cope :(

Having just moved from Denver to Southern CA, we're excited to be near TJs and In-n-out. But, there are so many other wonderful things that we miss dearly about Denver - mostly the hiking/biking trails, the amazing parks and the incredible rec centers with indoor pools! Blessings abound wherever you are. Your letter was so sweet. Thanks for making me laugh...

Dear Mono-stricken Brianna,

The heart has reasons which reason knows nothing of...

I can't remember who wrote that.

I hope you're feeling better soon!

oh how I feel the loss. Oh my trip back to CA last week I really wanted to stock up at TJs, but like Rachel said, it probably would have cost a fortune to pay the extra baggage charges on the flight home! Someday, maybe when the liquor laws are changed, we can hope for a TJs of our very own...
