Let the tapping commence...

because tomorrow I'm going on our church's womens' retreat. I don't really know very many people going. Thankfully my good friend Karen is, otherwise my introverted self would REALLY be panicking right about now!

(Oh and the tapping is in reference to a tactic people apparently use when they're nervous. Compliments of my fabulous friend Jennifer.)

I really am introverted. I like having friends, but I get nervous making friends. I'm really shy, especially in groups, and I think I'm a difficult person to get to know. I also think I give off a bad impression and I've had people think I'm stuck up. But really I'm just intimidated by new social situations and don't want people to think I'm an idiot. So instead, they think I'm a snob. :)

Anyway, I hope I'm not that loser that just lurks around while everyone else has a gay ol' time. But I might just be. (Especially if I drop the word "gay" into conversation like I did just now.) I'll be bringing a book, for sure. And my tapping finger will be ready...

If you have to, just keep a notepad handy and write instead of talking. Your writing cracks me up!

In contrast to you, I always have to worry about talking too much! Even my elementary school report cards stated, "Lisa talks too much in class." Maybe that is why I blog.
I hope you have a surprisingly wonderful time!

you'll have to let me know what the DLF is on a scale of 1 to 10 (Doilies and Lace)...

jeannett HA! yeah there is no DLF to be found around there i'm afraid. (there WILL be a hottub, and drinks...both things the pregnancy prevents me from participating in...hmmm. so maybe I'LL be the one contributing the DLF??? good thing i learned from the best!) i'll definitely give you a number rating though! heeheehee!

aw, man, brianna--i so wish that i was going with you guys. and i cannot for one minute imagine that ANYONE who's ever met you could possibly for one minute think you were stuck up.

you know what the worst part is about not going--now jon's totally free this weekend, but there was a long waitlist, so i lost my space. :( i'm even more bummed now. i hope you guys have a wonderful time. i'll be missing you. :)

I bet if you teach everyone to tap, you'll make lots of friends. They won't think you're weird at all. Promise.

Oh! And don't let anyone get close enough to figure out you smell like a vacuum cleaner. When it's running.

bekah i'm SO SORRY!!! that's horrible!!!!! what if i only eat half my portion of food and only take up half my portion of sleeping space? maybe we could make up a whole person? :)

jennifer HA!!!!!!!! both your comments cracked me up. i will definitely be instructing people how to tap, but standing from a distance. so they don't smell my vacuum-ness.

Brianna, seriously, to know you is to love you. Everyone feels awkward in those things though.

Brianna, you did NOT seem stuck up in person. Not even the tiniest bit. But I know what you mean, because I have the same problem.
