The Office

So Kevin and I never watch TV (well besides the sports he watches.) We have a few shows we like from the past that we own on DVD but that's it. A few months ago though we started watching "The Office" to check it out. And were totally irritated that we hadn't watched it sooner!

How awesome is this show?! I love all the awkwardness and sarcasm. We borrowed the first and second seasons from a friend of Kevin's at work to catch up, and also a season of the original British version from a friend in SLO, which isn't (in my opinion) nearly as funny, though the boss is pretty hilarious.

Anyway we have totally plowed through the seasons the last several weeks in the evenings (finished up Season 2 last night), as I've been too exhausted to do much else once the kids go to bed. Well that and we're apparently addicted!

My husband and I have little time for TV as well - but The Office is one that we've been hooked since the beginning of Season Two.

A few weeks before the second season started, my brother gave me Season One on DVD - we plowed through it in a matter of days, I think, and we've been completely enamored ever since.

Steve Carrell and Rainn Wilson are great--I seriously went to school with a Dwight, all militant about weird stuff and really gullible to boot. I'm also hooked on this Jim/Pam romance, which is funny b/c I don't typically get too into TV show romances. I guess the next show we need to check out is "Lost," since everyone raves about it.

I am sometimes in pain watching the office, but I never turn it off.

Don't check out Lost unless you want to get addicted to another show. That is the only one we watch. Jeromy is actually the one who is addicted. I have not been as much of a fan this season. I don't think it is as good as the first two seasons. We have watched The Office before and agree that it is PAINFULLY funny. So awkward, it hurts!

Lost is great, but much better on DVD. It is really annoying to watch it with all the commercials and long waits between episodes. Mike and I watched the first season on DVD and now watch it live.

The office is so funny. I too am addicted to the Jim/Pam relationship. Although if they ever do get together it will be as the show goes off the air, I am sure.

That's enough TV comments for me!

Kevin reminds me SOOO much of the temp! That is probably why you guys love the show--a character modeled after your husband. Just his dry sense of humor and facial expressions TOTALLY remind me of Kevin.

oh, we are such Office fans!!! yah, we totally watch it every week, and i'm so bummed that this week looks like a rerun. anyway, we watched the british season 1, and it's funny, but we couldn't even understand half the things they said! yes, the greatest show. i dido samantha about getting addicted to Lost. we rented the first two seasons and love it, but we have to wait for season three to come out since watching it online hasn't been working.

Kristen the British DVD we watched included a booklet of "vocabulary" that you could refer to, to figure out what they were talking about. Had that not been there, we would have been pretty clueless. (Okay and what is with the old Phillip being back on that other show I know you watch????)

Oooh, we watched the first two seasons of Lost on DVD right after my daughter was born, and now we're hooked.

It's no Office though.

seriously, brianna, i haven't a clue why they brought back old phillip on that other show (that i of course don't watch!)! such a fake child welfare story line. it bugs the heck out of me.
